Overview
Your trail ride begins at the corrals at Red Cliffs Ranch, where you’ll meet our gentle, well-trained horses and professional wranglers. After a brief yet thorough orientation, our wranglers will make sure you’re comfortable with your horse and confident in basic riding techniques.
Once you and your horse are ready, you’ll ride into Castle Creek Canyon, where the soft sounds of the clear flowing creek enhance the awe-inspiring scenery of towering 2,000-foot red rock cliffs. As you venture deeper into the canyon, the views continue to impress, including an iconic vantage point of Castle Rock. On the return trip, you’ll cross the shallow creek several times, adding to the charm and adventure of the ride.
This beautiful trail is exclusive to guests on this experience, offering a unique sense of seclusion. Along the way, your wrangler will share fascinating history about the area and the ranch, including John Wayne’s time at Red Cliffs Ranch and the many classic films that were shot here—making the scenery even more memorable.
After your ride, you’ll return to the corral, say goodbye to your horse, and have time to take photos with your steed and around our stunning ranch grounds.
